Lin Guo Guang, 36
From Fuqing of Fujian
He was married with two sons - Lin Luan, now 19 and Lin Fan, now 18. He was a fish farmer before a flood destroyed his farm and forced him to think of other means of maintaining a livelihood. He decided to come to the UK.
Lin Jinyun makes plastic flowers at home, to make some cash. The family's income also comes from small donation from the local Christians. Lin Jinyun said: "The tragic earthquake in Sichuan made me remember the young life of my husband that was taken away at Morecambe Bay, England. When I saw the victims' families in Sichuan asking for help from all over the country to donate money and clothing to them, I cried for them! and I remember our misery. We'd believed that Britain is a civilized country. Our loved ones were hardworking people who were exploited by their employers. How could it be that workers' families could not receive any compensation in a country like Britain?"
