His 70-year-old mother fell sick hearing her son's death, but couldn't afford medical treatment. The family still owes 200,000 RMB. "I cannot afford education for our son. He is being supported by my mother now," said Dong's wife Chen Yan Chun. The now 18-year-old son Dong Yao dropped out of school and has been working.
